A Closer Look at Steel Grades & Common Formats
Steel cut to your size requirements for pattern cutting. Whether standard sizes for laser cutting (4’x8” or 5x10’) or custom for your requirements , we ensure it performs in terms of flatness and consistency when you go to form your parts. Our inline temper mill at our pickle line and state of the art leveler ensures reliable quality. Typically, fabricators consume cut-to-length sheets due to their demand volume, machine capabilities or type of part they want to economically fabricate.
Pre-cut, flat, geometric shapes are delivered ready for forming. Focus your operations, save manufacturing steps, eliminate die and press maintenance, maximize material use, and add flexibility with multiple ship-tos from a central location.
Before steel is slit, it is referred to as a full coil—regardless of whether it’s hot rolled, cold rolled, or coated (such as galvanized, galvannealed, or aluminized). These coils are typically large, weighing between 16 and 20 tons, and require heavy-duty equipment for handling and processing. Full coils are commonly ordered by manufacturers producing large, high-volume parts or by companies that perform their own slitting or de-coiling in-house.
