What Is Half Hard Steel?

Half Hard Steel

Half-hard steel refers to material that has been partially cold worked to achieve a moderate level of hardness and strength, making it more durable than its annealed (soft) counterpart, but not as rigid or brittle as fully hardened steel. This intermediate hardness provides balance of formability with strength, making it suitable for automotive parts, appliances, and electrical components where some flexibility is needed. Because of these properties, further processing or shaping is used to meet the requirements of different use cases with ease.
