This year's Ohio In-Demand Jobs Week is May 6 - 10. This is an annual, statewide celebration of the jobs, industries and skills that are in high demand. Create Career Momentum in the Steel Industry

Our maintenance positions are a great way to get your start in the steel industry and have opportunities for growth. We partner with local career/technical schools to provide maintenance training opportunities to our employees.

Worthington Steel Workforce Experience

Worthington Steel partners with local high schools to offer a pre-apprenticeship program, called the Worthington Steel Workforce Experience (WSWE), to interested seniors. WSWE is a 14-week program designed to give students the opportunity to discover careers in the manufacturing industry. We educate participants by combining career readiness skills training in areas such as safety, communications, finance and problem solving with hands-on techniques that are used in day-to-day work.

We also incorporate a paid Material Handler internship as a part of this curriculum. Students work at the facility during the school year and learn the same skills as our entry-level employees. WSWE includes both classroom and hands-on training with the potential to join our team as a full-time employee upon successful completion of the program.

Production Associate

Location: Cuyahoga Heights, Ohio

Production associates are responsible for helping process steel to our customers' needs. Duties include a wide variety of tasks, from material handling, crane operation, forklifting operation and more. 

Seasonal Material Handler

Location: Delta, Ohio

Material handlers move material around the plant or worksite with a forklift or crane to ensure smooth production.
