WHAT WE DO
Worthington Steel Processes Steel In-house, Providing a Tighter Supply Chain and Superior Service

As a customer of ours once said, “they can do anything with steel.” Well, maybe not anything, but we come close. We can provide you with all of the processing offerings there are and we are constantly looking for ways to improve those products and services. Our core competency of processing steel in-house, with multiple processes at one location, is a time and money-saving feature resulting in a much tighter supply chain and ultimately better service for our customers. Having our facilities close to where you manufacture means reduced freights costs and improved lead-time.

Pickling hot-rolled sheet in-house at high speeds with no loss of quality….no problem. The in-line temper mill at the exit end of the line improves surface and shape helping to keep the scrap percentage low….reducing our costs.

Innovation lives at Worthington Steel in places like our Monroe, Ohio plant where the first stand-alone dry lube line in the country operates. Having this off-line, not attached to the pickler, improves efficiency and flexibility.

Sure we can do the expected slitting, blanking and cut-to-length services but add in the fact that we have facilities located close to various mills and end markets and that adds up to logistical advantages. When you process with Worthington Steel, you are doing business with the largest producer of cold rolled strip in the country, utilizing our tandem and reversing mills along with “state of the art” annealing.

All of this is What We Do, but How We Do It is just as important. We are proud of our safety and environmental records. Worthington Steel is a company that is committed to working "beyond" compliance, while maintaining world class performance. To that end, all of our operations maintain certification to international standards for health and safety (OHSAS 18001), environmental management (ISO 14001) and quality (ISO/TS 16949). Our systems ensure we consistently deliver a quality product, produced in a safe work environment, with minimal impact to the environment.
