Hydrogen annealing is a treatment of steel where it is heated to and held at a specific temperature followed by a controlled cooling process. Annealing softens metals and simultaneously changes the properties of the metal, improving the machinability, facilitation of cold-work, mechanical or electrical properties, and stability of dimensions.
