Melissa Dykstra is vice president of corporate communications & investor relations for Worthington Steel. Dykstra joined Worthington Industries in August 2023 with more than 30 years of communications experience leading teams in successful, results-oriented programs.

Prior to her role at Worthington Steel, Melissa held leadership roles with communications agencies and large corporations. Most recently, she was a senior director at Gagen MacDonald. Prior to that, she led global communications efforts for Vertiv. Throughout her career, she has led communications efforts through mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, brand evolutions, product launches, cultural change, leadership transitions, relocations and global crisis. Her work has been recognized by the Public Relations Society of America and PR Week magazine.

Dykstra earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism and public relations from Ohio University. She and her husband, Jason, have two children and live in central Ohio.
